And now, for something completely different.

For Amoir, who has kept us laughing so hard via her twitterfeed... it was her idea that spawned...

We've made a start... let the games begin! Send us more...

Sunday Night Roundup...

First, the gatecrashers entered the house. Hot stuff Barney received a "warm" reception from the girls, while the following two, Nathan and Michael, raised barely an eyebrow. The boys seemed rather disappointed to see no new female faces. Personally, we were disappointed to see Barney prove his beauty only runs skin deep as the sexist comments began right from the get-go.

Next up, Corey's first foray onto the BB stage was met with a... shall we say mixed? reaction. The loud, insistent booing didn't give way for his whole interview with Kyle and Jackie O. You had to feel sorry for the 17 year-old, especially when even Kyle couldn't get the audience to give him a break. Things didn't fare much better for party-boy when he made his way into the compound where only a few housemates surged forward to meet him. At first a few of the girls, primarily Bianca, were openly hostile and went to Big Brother to voice their unhappiness over the new guest. Surprisingly it was Saxon who took her aside to chat and ask if she would give the young guest a break. Who knew he would come out of that offensive shell?

The last 'surprise' for the night was probably the most enjoyable to watch. When Terri re-entered the house to act as Corey's minder the mixed reactions of the housemates were priceless. Most entertaining of all, Nobbi's face. To say he was pissed off is the understatement of the year. While Big Brother attempted to bleep the majority of his swearing rampage, the audience were left with the longest bleeeeeeeeping sound in television history! Extra kudos for them managing to miss the "fuck this" on the end that made it to broadcast. Dixie, Travis and Renee were clearly overjoyed to have Terri back, and she has wasted no time getting stuck back into the younger housemates.

Nobbi, meanwhile, is still complaining to anyone who will listen about his "rough time" in the house and his hatred of Terri over in the live feed. Corey, meanwhile, is wandering aimlessly in the house looking very uncomfortable indeed. Terri seems to be receiving the suck-up of a lifetime from Ben, who appears very uncomfortable to see the woman who he voted off for reminding him of his mother return.

Highlight: Kyle and Jackie O discussing Saxon's emergence as a bigot and "those" Rima pictures and controversy upfront - very refreshing.

Lowlight: Barney's first comments to the Australian public - he likes women who he can get to cook, clean and have sex with. Classy, you tool, classy.

PerthNow publishes details on new housemates

Not sure how Western Australia has the scoop on the rest of the country, but PerthNow are reporting details on their very own state's next representative for Big Brother:

HUNKY Perth model and surf lifesaver Craig Barnett is taking time out between photo shoots and rescuing swimmers to gatecrash Australia's most popular household.

The 33-year-old shipping officer will enter Channel 10's Big Brother House tonight.

He will be joined by two new flatmates Michael, a musician from Victoria, and Nathan, a physiotherapist from South Australia.

Nicknamed Barney, Barnett made the 2008 Cleo Bachelor of the Year final 50 with former Australian Idol contestant Dean Geyer, ironman Ky Hurst and cricketer Michael Buchanan.

Describing himself as honest, fun and youthful, Barnett said he enjoyed meeting new people and was afraid of growing old.

Outside the Big Brother House: Ben

So, for some words straight from the horse's mouth, here is a blog that rumors tell belongs to Ben. The powers that be on the site it is hosted on, Faster Louder, are also supporting the fact that it's him in this thread.

Nothing there that rocked my world, but at least you get a bit of an idea what he's like - self aggrandising, book smart/life dumb, clueless on how to treat women. Misogyny included in profile.

Check it out here.

Tim Brunero

We doubt we're alone in our jubilation over the return of former housemate Tim as a Big Brother pundit. Not only does he return with his podcasts (which we've been a huge fan of in previous years), but he's getting a run on the new Monday night show Big Mouth. We're hoping this show takes off given the new faces and the opportunity to offer more 'adult' content (and no, we don't mean just the nakedness!).

Anyway, we highly recommend heading over here to Oh Brother! to keep up with Tim's coverage of the Big Brother 2008 series.

Geelong hit back over Rory's 'slum' comments

Who knew his hometown wouldn't like the label 'slum'? Predictably, Geelong residents are offended that new housemate Rory has described Corio as a the ghetto of Geelong.

Local paper The Geelong Advertiser have already published outraged locals who are keen to show their anti-support by voting the young brickie out of the house. Luckily for him, him Mumma is there to back him up. A boy's gotta have his Mumma to stand up for him when he can't. Ah, the LOLs.

Check here for some damn funny Geelong resident comments.

Naked Photos of Rima...

Yup, this has to be the fastest porn scandal yet for Big Brother. Only a few days in and we're already being told all about the naked photos of tiny housemate Rima Hadchiti.

For those who really want to take a look, here is the link.

Opening Night Roundup

Well, that had to be the longest, least exciting opening night ever. We here at australiatv are less than enthused with the new hosts. At least by the end of seven seasons Gretel could tell when her audience were bored out of their brains.

As for our housemates... after being promised a "different" group this year, it seems that BB's idea of different and ours are... well... different. We're faced with three months of cliches; the old woman, the short woman, the asian, the indigenous australian (although we were pretty stoked to see this inclusion, finally), the cult-escapee, the law student, the peroxide blonde, the country vet, the is-he-isn't-he-not-quite-gay, the tomboy, the UFO believer, the tradie, the big-breasted and the over-achiever. Cliches, one and all, that are unlikely to be unlike previous housemates for the most part, even if they look different.

As for the manufacturing of excitement... will all this fast pace 'snap eviction' business just leave us with more time to be bored when the first fireworks are over?

No prizes for figuring out that our token oldie is most likely to be evicted by the younger group. Anyone willing to take me up on a bet to that effect?
